Bell and Dorje
A Dorje (also known as Vajra) symbolizes diamond and thunder. A diamond signifies indestructibility and thunder signifies irresistible force. Many deities in Hinduism and Buddhism are seen carrying Vajra with them. It is believed to be the most powerful weapon in ancient mythology.
A Dorje and Bell are often seen together in many Tibetan rituals and ceremonies. In Buddhism, Dorje is seen as a male and represents compassion while Bell is seen as female and it represents wisdom. It is believed that the ultimate force is the union between compassion and wisdom and it is the reason we see many deities holding a bell in one hand and a dorje in another.
